Put them in mind to be subject to
principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
[2] To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all
meekness unto all men.

GETTING IT RIGHT!
A PATTERN TO FOLLOW – Vss. 1-2
Put them in mind to be subject to
principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
[2] To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all
meekness unto all men.
A PARDON TO EMBRACE – Vss. 3-5 Titus 3:3-5
For we ourselves also were sometimes
foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts
and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. [4]
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
[5] Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his
mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy
Ghost;
A POSITION TO ENJOY – Vss. 6-7
Which he shed on us abundantly through
Jesus Christ our Saviour; [7] That being justified by
his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
A PRACTICE TO MAINTAIN – Vs. 8
This is a faithful saying, and these
things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God
might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable
unto men.

Christians you have known personally. Being a remarkable Christian is possible
for any Christian. Actually the remarkable Christian is a Christian who is
normal. Paul describes the remarkable Christian in these verses.

In this passage, we are
reminded that every born again Christian has a life that has been turned
around. At one time we were headed for damnation. We experienced salvation. We
are now to live as those who have turned from going to hell and are headed for
Heaven.
PATTERN OF GOOD BEAHVIOR
Vss. 1-2
Here are some of the
qualities that a Christian should exhibit.
PERVERSION BEFORE
SALVATION Vs. 3
It is always good to
remember what we were like before we were saved.
PRESERVATION BY GRACE
Vss. 4-7
It is also good to remember
just how much love went into our salvation.
God in His grace preserved us from hell fire.
PRODUCTION OF GOOD WORKS
Vs. 8

As we do the things Paul
tells Titus, our churches will tend to be more peaceful.
