LOOKING FOR A KING
A KING WAS REQUESTED Vss. 1-6 Instead of having
judges rule over
GOD WAS REJECTED Vss. 7-9 Samuel was not being
rejected, but God was! Samuel was to
give their request, but first warn them.
THE PEOPLE WERE REMINDED Vss. 10-18
THE NATION WAS RESOLVED Vss. 19-20 They refused to
listen to Samuels warnings and insisted that they wanted a king.
THE MATTER WAS REHEARSED Vss. 21-22 Samuel
reviewed things with God. God told him to anoint a king. The people were sent away, and God would show
Samuel who the next king would be in 1 Samuel 9.

"BE REASONABLE, DO IT MY WAY!"
Sometimes people can be very stubborn. As Samuel was getting to the end of his life,
the Israelites were clamoring for a king. No matter what he told them, they did
not want to have their minds changed about a king.
