Joshua 8:1-29

WELCOME BACK!

When I returned home from Vietnam there was a big sign in front of my house. It said, "Welcome home, Jack!" A few weeks ago some folks who had been in Florida and North Carolina returned to church. We said to them, "Welcome back!" We saw a young man get far away from God and then return. When he did return, many conveyed the message, "Welcome back!"

Israel had left the Lord, and suffered a great defeat at Ai (Joshua 7).

They did deal with the sin in the camp. They had come back. When they came back, it was if God was saying:

WELCOME BACK TO CONFIDENCE - Vs. 1 - "Fear not, neither be

dismayed."

WELCOME BACK TO SERVICE - Vs. 1 - "Arise and go to Ai."

WELCOME BACK TO GUIDANCE - Vss. 1-2

WELCOME BACK TO OBEDIENCE - Vss. 3-19

WELCOME BACK TO VICTORY - Vss. 20-29

When we have sinned, and then return to God, we might feel tentative.

God says, 'WELCOME BACK!"
