Mark 8
TRAINING ACTIONS
#8 of 16 – THE ACTION GOSPEL
· How
have you been trained to do what you do?
· What are
some of the ways Jesus trained His disciples?
· What do
Christians need to be trained to do?
· What are
some methods we can use to train Christians?
In Mark 8 Jesus is primarily training his disciples, not only with His
words, but also with his actions.
What is
compassion?
What are some
of the other ways Jesus showed it?
Should our
compassion only be for the physical needs of people? Why or why not?
Were the
disciples showing their unbelief or were they conceding their own inability to
the Lord? Do you think that they forgot
the feeding of the 5,000?
He used what
He had.
He gave
thanks.
He multiplied
it.
Why do you
think Jesus took Him out of town?
What does this
teach us about the things we do for Jesus?
What signs had
already been given that showed Jesus to be the Messiah?
Why did Jesus
refuse to give any more signs? What was the sign of Jonah?
Matthew 16:4 -
A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh
after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the
prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
What was the
"Leaven of the Pharisees and of Herod"?
Why was it so
dangerous?
Why was their
conclusion so preposterous?
What did Jesus
say to show how silly they were?
How can we harden our hearts today?
Why was this an important question for the disciples?
Why should we
be concerned that people have the right answer to this question?
Matthew 16:17 -
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed
art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not
revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Why to do you
think Jesus wanted them to remain silent about His identity?
Why was Jesus
sharing this information at this time?
Why did Peter
rebuke Jesus? Why was he so off base?
What warning
is here for us Christians?
What are the
three key concepts? How do they apply to
us?
What is the
cross we bear as Christians?
In what ways
can Christians lose life?
In what ways
can Christians save their lives?
