Deuteronomy 9:1-6

VICTORY FOR ISRAEL

PROMISE OF VICTORY - Vss. 1-2

Moses was telling Israel that they were going into the Promised Land to possess it and have victory over those mightier than they. That's exactly what we do, when we have victory over sin. Romans 6:11-13

POWER FOR VICTORY - Vs. 3

God would give the victory for Israel. God gives the victory for us. Romans 6:14

PROHIBITION IN VICTORY - Vss. 4-6

Israel was not to think that it was because of her righteousness that they had secured victory. Israel was a "stiffnecked people". It was because of the wickedness of the nations in the Promised Land that caused God to evict them and give the land to Israel. Our victories in Christ have nothing to do with our righteousness, but everything to do with God's grace and mercy. Titus 3:5, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
