Exodus 18:13-27
OVERWORKED!
It is very easy for those in leadership positions to
get overworked.
Such was the case of Moses. Jethro, his
father-in-law, pointed out the problem, and gave the solution.
THE WEIGHT OF LEADERSHIP Vss. 13-18
Jethro watched as a long line of people came
to Moses from Morning until night. Moses was doing all the interpreting of the law, and judging specific situations. Jethro pointed out
that this was a job too big for just one man. Both people and leader would grow
weary.
THE WISDOM OF JETHRO Vss.
19-23
Moses was to do three things.
Intercede - He was to be a man of prayer for the people.
Vs.19
Instruct - He was to teach what God's word says and
what the people were to do. Vs. 20
Involve - Other Godly men were to
appointed and to take care of judging small, simple matters. The big problems
they were to bring to Moses.
THE WORK OF MOSES Vss. 24-27
Moses did as he was instructed.
