agree with the other spies. He was ready to trust God for victory in a
challenging land.

MAJOR MISREPRESENTATION
or THE MAJORITY IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT
Very often politicians
do not care as much about right and wrong as they do
about public opinion.
They want to please the
majority of their constituents. Because of this
attitude wrong decisions are made.
Moses sent a group of
spies into the Promised Land to bring back a report.
There were actually two
reports and the people believed the majority of the
spies. The end result was that the children of
report. The majority is not always right.
RECRUITS - Vss. 1-16
Spies were recruited to
spy out the land. Each man was a leader in his
tribe.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Vss.
17-20
The spies were given
their duties as they spied out the land.
RECONNAISSANCE - 21-25
The spies' mission is
described.
REPORTS - Vss. 26-30
Majority Report - The
majority of the spies told of a wonderful land, but
also described the people of the land. They were afraid of their
size and
their defenses. Vss. 26-29
Minority Report - Vs. 30
- Caleb spoke up. He wanted to go forward to
conquer the land. He didn't deny the information, but realized that
God
would enable them to conquer the land. Numbers 14:6-10
REBUTTAL - Vss. 31-33
In response to Caleb's
words, the majority brought up a negative report on
the land.
They said "no"
to God's plan.
The people believed the
majority report, and ended up wandering in the
wilderness for 40 years.
