OUR ENEMY

Here is a picture of just how Satan, our enemy operates. Job does teach us, however, that Satan's attacks can be neutralized.

SATAN IS LOADED WITH ACCUSATIONS. - Vss. 1-5

Just like Job 1:10-11, Satan accuses God of protecting Job. In this chapter, he maintains that if God were to permit suffering in Job's body, Job would curse God.

SATAN IS LIMITED BY GOD. - Vs. 6

God limits Satan in what he is allowed to do.

In Job 1:12 Satan was not allowed to touch Job's health.

In this verse He is not allowed to take Job's life.

God will only allow Satan to go so far, and God is always in control. See 1 Corinthians 10:13.

SATAN IS LOATHSOME IN HIS ATTACKS - Vss. 7-8

Added to the vicious attacks in Job 1:13-19, Satan attacks Job with "sore boils".

Satan will do all in his power to make us miserable. 1 Peter 5:8

SATAN IS LICKED (DEFEATED) BY FAITH - Vss. 9-10

As in Job 1:21-22, Job does not sin with his lips.

His reply to his wife reflects Job's faith.
