1 Corinthians 6:1-11

CHRISTIANS IN COURT?

Going to court may not always be avoidable because we live among unsaved people.

However, Christians should not be taking other Christians to court.

PAUL IS INCENSED – Vss, 1, 4-5

Christians were taking other to court.

Unsaved people were passing judgment.

There were saved people who could of acted as judges between believers.

PAUL IS INSTRUCTIVE – Vss. 2-3, 9-11

In the future we will serve as judges, we should be able to do so now among believers.

Unrighteous people will not inherit the Kingdom of God, therefore they should not be judging between believers. Some of the believers had been unrighteous also, but now they have been changed!

PAUL IS INSISTENT – Vss. 7-8

It is better to suffer wrong than to drag a fellow believer into court.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

CHRISTIAN, ADMIT IT!

If you know Christ as your Savior, it is time to admit to some facts which Paul states in these 2 verses.

YOU ARE OCCUPIED WITH GOD - "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God..." See John 14:16-18.

YOU ARE OWNED BY GOD - "...and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price..." See 1 Peter 1:18-19.

YOU ARE OBLIGATED TO GOD - "...therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." See Romans 12:1-2.

ABOUT YOUR BODY

YOUR BODY IS A TEMPLE - "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God,"

The moment you trusted Christ as your Savior, the Holy Spirit began to indwell you. 1 Corinthians 12:13, Romans 8:9

The Holy Spirit of God lives inside of each believer, therefore your body is a temple of God!

YOUR BODY IS A TRUST - "...and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price:"

When a person is responsible for a trust it means that he is taking care of something that He doesn't own. We are responsible to take care of our bodies as a trust. God owns our bodies because He purchased our salvation on the cross. Romans 5:6-9

YOUR BODY IS TO BE A TESTIMONY - "...therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."

Because we are owned by God, we are to bring glory to God with all that we do in body and/or spirit! Romans 12:1
