THE PURPOSE OF THE LAW - Vs. 20 - To give the
knowledge of sin.
THE PROVISION ABOVE THE LAW - Vss. 21-24 -
Righteousness in Christ.

OBTAINING GOD'S
RIGHTEOUSNESS
Only those who have
God's righteousness will enter into Heaven.
THE TRAGEDY OF SIN - Vs.
23
Nobody is righteous
before God. We have all failed Him! We all deserve punishment. Romans 3:10-20
THE TRUTH OF
JUSTIFICATION - Vs. 24
We are justified
("declared righteous") by God's grace through the finished work of
Christ on the cross. Romans 5:6-9
THE TRANSACTION BY FAITH
- Vss. 21-22, 25
We obtain God's
righteousness when we place our faith in Christ as our Savior. Romans 5:1
THE TRIUMPH OF GOD -
Vss. 26-28
He is the justifier of
those who believe in Christ.
We have no boasting in
our own righteousness. It is excluded by the law of faith.

UNDER GRACE
EXCLUSION - Vs. 27
Under grace boasting is excluded.
CONCLUSION - Vss. 28, 31
Under grace a man is justified by faith and not by the
deeds of the law.
INCLUSION - Vss. 29-30
Under grace Jews and
Gentiles are included based on faith.
