Grace Living
A topical Sunday School Class or Bible Study
Grace, or God’s unmerited favor is necessary for more
than Salvation. We are saved by grace.
Our whole lives must be lived by grace.
Here are the headings and Scriptures I recently used for a Sunday School
glass on this subject.
SAVING GRACE
Romans 3:24 - Being justified freely by his grace
through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace are ye saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works,
lest any man should boast.
VISIBLE GRACE
Acts 11:23 - Who, when he came, and had seen the grace
of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would
cleave unto the Lord.
COMMITTED GRACE
Acts 15:40 - And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being
recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.
CONSTRUCTIVE GRACE
Acts 20:32 - And now, brethren, I commend you to God,
and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an
inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
VICTORIOUS GRACE
Romans 5:17 - For if by one man's offence death
reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift
of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Romans 6:14 - For sin shall not have dominion over
you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
2 Timothy 2:1 - Thou therefore, my son, be strong in
the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
SERVING GRACE
1 Corinthians 15:10 - But by the grace of God I am
what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I
laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which
was with me.
Ephesians 4:7 - But unto every one of us is given grace
according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Romans 12:6-8 - Having then gifts differing according
to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according
to the proportion of faith; [7] Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or
he that teacheth, on teaching; [8] Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he
that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that
sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
SUFFICIENT GRACE
2 Corinthians 12:9 - And he said unto me, My grace is
sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly
therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may
rest upon me.
James 4:5-6 - Do ye think that the scripture saith in
vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? [6] But he giveth more
grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the
humble.
VOCAL GRACE
Colossians 3:16 - Let the word of Christ dwell in you
richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns
and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colossians 4:6 - Let your speech be alway with grace,
seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
AVAILABLE GRACE
Hebrews 4:14-16 - Seeing then that we have a great
high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold
fast our profession. [15] For we have not an high priest which cannot be
touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like
as we are, yet without sin. [16] Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne
of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
INCREASING GRACE
John 1:16-17 - And of his fulness have all we
received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and
truth came by Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 1:2 - Grace and peace be multiplied unto you
through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
2 Peter 3:18 - But grow in grace, and in the knowledge
of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever.
Amen.
PERFECTED GRACE
1 Peter 5:10 - But the God of all grace, who hath called
us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while,
make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
