IN SEARCH OF PURITY
Matthew 5:8 - Blessed
are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
1 John 3:1-3 - Behold,
what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called
the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
[2] Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we
shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we
shall see him as he is. [3] And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth
himself, even as he is pure.
1 Timothy 1:5 - Now
the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good
conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
PURE THOUGHTS
Matthew 5:21-22 - Ye
have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and
whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: [22] But I say unto
you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in
danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be
in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in
danger of hell fire.
Matthew 5:27-28 - Ye
have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit
adultery: [28] But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust
after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Luke 6:45 - A
good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is
good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that
which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
Matthew
15:18-20 - But those things which proceed
out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. [19] For
out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications,
thefts, false witness, blasphemies: [20] These are the things which defile a
man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
Philippians 4:8 - Finally,
brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever
things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be
any praise, think on these things.
Galatians 5:22-23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is
no law.
PURE TONGUE
Psalm 19:14 - Let
the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy
sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
Proverbs 15:4 - A
wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the
spirit.
James 3:2 - For
in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a
perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
James 3:8-10 - But
the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. [9]
Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are
made after the similitude of God. [10] Out of the same mouth proceedeth
blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
PURE TESTIMONY
James 3:17-18 - But
the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy
to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without
hypocrisy. [18] And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that
make peace.
Titus 2:11-13 - For
the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, [12]
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live
soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; [13] Looking for that
blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus
Christ;
